THE BLACK PEPPER FARMING PROJECT
We currently sponsor the PeaceTrees Black Pepper Farming Project. It’s a collaborative project which trains poor, largely ethnic minority farmers in Cheng Village of Tan Lien Commune. In 2015, the farmers successfully started growing their own pepper plants. This allows them to earn income for their families.
We look forward to the growth of this project and the positive impact it will have on the community.
THE BONNEVILLE ENVIRONMENTAL FOUNDATION: FROM ROASTING TO RENEWABLE RESOURCES
We use a lot of electricity roasting, glazing and packaging our products. So to minimize our environmental footprint, we partner with the non-profit Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF), purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates, or RECs. The RECs pay for the delivery of clean energy to the power grid, which reduces carbon emissions from fossil–fuel based electricity.
RECs purchased from Bonneville are sourced from 100% new, renewable resources and are Green-e® Energy Certified.
