Kale Salad and Apples and Farro

with Sahale Snacks® Valdosta Pecans Glazed Mix

The fall season means one thing: apples. During the autumn, we can’t get enough of them. This simple recipe balances sweet, salty and tangy into a simple, yet delicious seasonal salad. Pairing the crisp, sweet apples with kale, farro and our Valdosta Pecan Glazed Mix makes for the ultimate fall dish. When it comes to apples, there are a lot to choose from. We like to choose a fresh, locally grown variety—preferably a sweeter apple for this recipe. And don’t bother peeling. The apple peel provides a nice pop of color to the salad. Ingredients

Farro

1 Cup

Chopped Kale

4 to 6 Cups

Medium Apples, cored and diced

1 1/2 Cups

Sahale Snacks® Valdosta Pecans Glazed Mix

1-4oz. Pouch

White or Red Wine Vinegar

1/3 Cup

Minced Shallots

1/4 Cup

Dijon Mustard

1 Tbsp

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1/2 Cup

Step 1:  Prepare

Prepare the farro according to the package directions. Drain and cool.

Step 2:  Cut

Cup up the kale, apples, and cheese.

Step 3:  Combine

To make the vinaigrette, combine the vinegar, shallots, and mustard. Slowly whisk in the olive oil until smooth.

Step 4:  Combine

Combine all salad ingredients in large bowl. Drizzle vinaigrette over salad. Toss and enjoy!
